Dean Rosenberg has been an active entrepreneur within the San Diego start-up ecosystem since 1989. His companies and products transcend a number of diverse industries. From starting the world's first on-line restaurant ordering site on the web in 1996, to delivering software products in the aviation, energy, industrial, and maritime sectors, Dean is an early stage company operator with a strong technical background.
Most recently, Dean co-founded AIRSIS Inc., an energy and transportation solutions company that was acquired by Oceaneering International (NYSE:OII) in 2014. AIRSIS' core offering is PortVision (www.portvision.com), a global ship tracking service with over 2,000 users including federal and state agencies and every major oil company. PortVision is widely credited with transforming the maritime industry by providing transparency to industry stakeholders and helping to improve efficiency, safety, and security across the indsutry. Based on the success of PortVision, Dean was invited to testify before Congress at the US House Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation in 2014.
Today, Dean is focused on mentoring start-up management teams, angel investing, and providing operations and technology consulting to (primarily) early stage companies. When not reading business plans and helping to scale companies, he is an avid cyclist and participant in San Diego's endurance sports community.
Dean holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from UC San Diego, and an MBA from San Diego State University.
